What is Skin Rejuvenation?
Skin rejuvenation is a broad term that consists of various treatments that are used to correct and reduce the appearance of skin imperfections either on your face or somewhere else on your body. At Vein and Body Specialists, we utilize laser technology to smooth out your complexion and reverse the signs of aging to give you a refreshed, younger-looking appearance.
What Types of Skin Rejuvenation Treatments Do You Offer?
At Vein and Body Specialists we offer the following treatments for skin rejuvenation:
PicoFractional Toning and Skin Toning
Utilizing photoacoustic energy, the PiQo4 laser emits nano and pico laser pulses to stimulate the creation of new collagen, a process called neocollagenesis. The laser’s high energy and deep reach cause types of pigments to shatter, creating a brighter and more even skin tone. Treatment sessions take less than 10 minutes to complete and require no downtime. Typically, about three sessions are needed to have a visible improvement in skin texture, with optimal results achieved after five sessions performed in two to six-week intervals. Improvements can continue to be seen for up to six months following treatment.
A common skin condition, melasma is a skin discoloration that is characterized by brown to gray-brown patches usually on the face. Parts of the body that are commonly exposed to the sun, such as forearms and the neck, can also suffer from melasma. The PiQo4 laser can lessen the appearance of melasma in a quick four-minute procedure by smoothing the natural skin tone. There is no downtime for this procedure.
Acne and Scar Removal
By stimulating the body’s ability to produce new collagen and elastin, the PiQo4 laser is able to treat acne and smooth out leftover scars.
Dermal Pigments and Epidermal Pigment Treatment
Laser treatment is the only effective skin rejuvenation procedure for dermal pigments because of the laser’s ability to penetrate the epidermis and reach the dermal layer. Dermal pigmentations include Mongolian spots and nevus of Ota. Epidermal pigmentations, including sunspots and keratosis (non-cancerous skin lesions), are also easily treatable using lasers by breaking up the pigmentation and smoothing the skin’s complexion.
Who is a Candidate for Skin Rejuvenation?
Anyone looking to revitalize their skin or correct imperfections caused from aging or free radical damage is a likely candidate for skin rejuvenation. If you suffer from scarring, sun damage, and fine lines and wrinkles, or want to improve your texture, tone and pigmentation, we have a skin rejuvenation treatment to help.
How Much Does Skin Rejuvenation Cost?
There is no one cost for skin rejuvenation, as the cost varies depending upon your specific treatment plan. We will always ensure that you know the cost upfront and will work with you to determine a plan that is both affordable and effective. We offer financing options such as deposits on accounts prior to treatment, CareCredit® and we accept credit cards (Master and Visa).
Skin Rejuvenation FAQs
PicoFractional is an advanced skin treatment solution powered by the PiQo system. This laser uses photoacoustic energy combined with hight energy to reach deep into skin and shatter multiple types of skin pigmentation, such as pigmented lesion, age spots, sun spots, as well as treat facial lines and wrinkles. PicoFractional also stimulates new collagen, so that skin is renewed to achieve a brighter and even tone.
Many other lasers exclude certain skin tones because of the side effects on darker skin. PicoFractional is different because it used non-thermal energy which is generally suitable for all skin tones. However, pigment removal and skin resurfacing are not ideal for everyone. Always speak to your treatment provider who’ll be able to help you decide if PiqoFractional is right for you.
During treatment, you’re likely to hear tiny popping sounds and feel a sensation of heat over the treated area. The treated skin may feel tight, as it does after sunburn.
Depending on the type of treatment required, the immediate subtle changes will include cleaner and smoller skin pores and more even skin tone in general. Brown spots will be noticeable lighter the day after treatment.
Optimal results are typically achieved after 3-5 sessions at 3 week intervals. You may continue to see improvements for up to six months following treatment.
You may experience just a mild redness for a few hours. If treatment is intense, there may be some slight darkening, redness or puffiness for 2-4 days. Once skin has healed, you should notice a definite improvement. Your treatment will be customized to your individual needs and your practitioner will give you guidance on how best to look after your skin following treatment.
PiQo 4 is a non-thermal FDA- approved laser for treating multiple types of pigment issues. Its PicoFractional handpiece converts light into sound waves to deliver Pico pulses.
We sell a package of 3 PiQo facial rejuvenation sessions for $995 or sessions can be purchased separately for $500 per session.
- Use a gentle cleanser AM and PM to avoid irritating the treatment site.
- If you currently use Hydroquinone for pigment issues, do not discontinue use. It is important to use this medication to conjunction with the laser.
- You can use your anti-aging skin care products following this procedure except for Retinol. Please refrain from using Rerinol products for 1 week. If you do not currently use a Retinol you should consider buying one for maximum effect.
- Any discomfort you feel (usually not lasting more than 6 hours) should be relieved with acetaminophen (Tylenol).
- DO NOT TAN the area treated. Avoid sun exposure. Use a sunscreen with an SPF 30 or greater throughout the course of treatment.
- Avoid swimming and contact sports while the skin is healing. The skin is a little sensitive for 24-48 hours following the procedure: avoid direct heat and sunlight on the treatment sites.
- Everyone heals differently, depending on your particular condition, the type of laser you were treated with, and the say your skin reacts to the lasers.
